You Changed Lives

Gen Con 2024 Update

You all are incredible. For real.

This was our first year having a booth at Gen Con. We were thrilled but weren't exactly sure what we were getting into. The one thing that has always made going to this event so healing has been the love of the people attending. And we are happy to report that after four long and tiring days of running our booth we still feel the same way. ;)

From the guy who jumped to open the doors for us when we were unloading our stuff on the very first day, to the many people who affirmed our cause, to the individuals who shared their own stories of personal loss and grief...you all have left a lasting impression of compassion and vulnerability that we will carry in our hearts for years to come.

Over 71,000 people attended Gen Con this year and many of you came through the Makers Market. (Side note...if you missed the Makers Market this year, be sure to check it out in 2025!) We enjoyed seeing your cosplay outfits, hearing you banter with your friends and watching you enjoy this crazy event together!

We sincerely appreciate every one of you who stopped by our booth and purchased a bracelet or a keychain! Because of you we have exciting news!!!

If you've been following our Facebook page this week, we have been running our #GoodFromGrief2024 campaign in honor of our brother's birthday week. We started this campaign to encourage others to share their stories of hope and healing, to donate in honor of those they have lost or to share how they have seen something good come out of their season of loss.

This year we committed to donating 25% of all sales we made at Gen Con to charities supporting mental health and the homeless. But we were waiting for a very special day to donate the money.

It seemed a fitting end to this year's Good From Grief Campaign to donate the 25% from Gen Con today on our brother's 35th birthday.

Because of your support, we were able to donate $831.25.

$618.75 was given to Mental Health America of Indiana and $212.50 was given to the Chicago Coalition to End Homelessness - because of YOU. These organizations are dedicated to helping those who need someone to believe in them. And we could tell beyond a shadow of a doubt that you all believe in them! We would not be able to make this happen without the awesome community that is Gen Con.

You all are incredible. For real.

Mark your calendars now for Gen Con 2025 and make sure that you plan time to come down to the Makers Market. We'll be back and we will be offering some exciting new products that you won't want to miss!

Happy birthday, Bubs. Many people now know your story and your smile and have joined us in supporting causes you were passionate about. We hope you like your birthday gift...and we are confident it will have an impact on the people you cared about.
